Overview

The Michigan Arthroplasty Registry Collaborative Quality Initiative works with healthcare facilities and surgeons throughout Michigan. These are facilities and doctors that you know and are in your neighborhood; the people you look to for your care if you need surgery. It is good to know that they are committed to improve outcomes and reduce cost. MARCQI is a partnership that works together to reduce complications and enhance your recovery.

All Blue Cross Blue Shield of Michigan and Blue Care Network “Blue Distinction Centers of Excellence for Knee and Hip” participate in MARCQI, so you know that your site and surgeon are among the best in the state.
We not only care about your surgical stay but your well-being and functional health after your procedure. Most facilities and doctor offices send follow-up surveys so you may be asked how well you are doing before and after the surgery – from your point of view – so we can continuously improve the care we deliver.

MARCQI is working on quality projects that include: reducing infections, reducing discharges to nursing homes, reducing the development of blood clots after surgery, and decreasing bleeding after joint replacement thus reducing the need for blood transfusions.
